Shepherd’s Friend is directed by Nathan Pierpont.
Nathan joined the staff at Northeastern Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, MI in 2002 where he now serves as Associate Pastor.
Nathan and his wife, Jennifer, have been in ministry together since 1992. They have seven children, and a growing number of grandchildren.
In addition to his current role, Nathan has experience as a lead pastor and an itinerate speaker and musician. Jennifer is a women’s small group facilitator and provides biblical counseling to ladies in their local church.
Nathan possesses extensive experience in vocational Christian ministry, having grown up in a pastor’s home. He has engaged with individuals of all ages and has taken on leadership roles in every department of a typical small to medium-sized church. His foundational training began in his teenage years, guided by his parents. Nathan studied church music and theology at Cedarville University before earning his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Nathan has served in various capacities, acquiring a diverse range of experience in churches ranging in attendance from 50 and 500. In 2006, he was ordained by Northeastern Baptist Church and graduated with honors from Baptist Bible Seminary in 2010. Currently, Nathan is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree at Shepherd’s Theological Seminary.

Nathan is also a singer, songwriter, and pianist who leads worship concerts on Sunday evenings or special weeknight events. He continues to write and record new songs as a hobby. Check out his concert ministry website.
